Well, to keep it brief let's just say it was awkward. There you go. See, you ladies have a great advantage over myself when it comes to student/school visits. If it's you and one guy, hey, no big deal. If it's me and one girl...I tend to get a little paranoid and panicked trying to make sure I don't do anything that might be even thought of as being slightly misconstrued as maybe perhaps by a long shot inappropriate.
So, thank God for windows! By no fault of my own, one of my counselors had accidentally double booked at her school and since there was a large crowd for the other school, she gave them the entire career center. No worries though. She was nice enough to let me and the one girl that came to visit me use her office. And, being the courteous person that she was, she decided to close the door so neither I nor the other college would be distracted...How sweet. So, you can see where a little panic might have come in here, especially in this world in which we live, in which simply by virtue of being a young adult male I am almost immediately suspected of being at risk for being a...threat, to put it nicely.
So I thank God for windows in this little office because if it were not for them I would have been completely isolated from anyone else and at the mercy of the honesty of this girl's testimony of our meeting. Actually, once I got past the panic part it was okay...of course, that wasn't until we opened the door again, but whatever. It was a more laid back visit, though as she was the little sister of a current student and so we got a chance to talk more casually. But I thank God for His mercy and protection! And who knew those would come in the form of transparent sheets of glass? =0)
